It was another great year for The White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood at Glastonbury Festival as thousands of people flocked to our tent in The Park to get in THE FRAME and say ‘HELLO MUM’ – Dame Vivienne Westwood and her husband Andreas Kronthaler, amongst them (see picture).

Once again we were there putting festival goers in the picture about our important work to stop mothers and babies dying in childbirth, and literally in the frame with our giant HELLO MUM Polaroid Picture Frame.

What’s more performers and VIPs such as  Craig Charles, Edith Bowman, Jarvis Cocker, Julian Cope, Matt & Kai from Gorgon City, Pete Turner from Elbow and Emily Eavis and Nick Dewey got in our roving Polaroid Frame to say HELLO MUM and support our work to stop women and babies dying in childbirth around the world.

See more pictures of our time at Glastonbury 2014 on Twitter and Instagram under #WRAHelloMum

July is charity month at FreePostcodeLottery.com the 100% Free Daily Prize Draw where all you need is a postcode.

From Monday 17 June, when you sign up to the daily free prize draw you will be asked to nominate a charity. Then if your postcode is chosen during July, you will win at least £20 and the charity of your choice will be sent a matching donation.

If a draw is unclaimed the prize fund rolls over by £20 per day until it’s claimed – the highest jackpot so far has been £200.

Double & Donate

Charity Month marks the start of the site's commitment to support charities as a regular and on-going feature of the daily draw.  Once the month is over, the automatic donations will stop but users will be given the option to double their winnings if they choose to donate it to their nominated charity instead of collect it for themselves.

“Things are going well on the site, with over £12,000 won so far. Last...

As you may have heard, Nextdoor.com the private social network for your neighbourhood is coming to the UK next year.

Whereas current social media platforms are about connecting people globally Nextdoor is all about connecting people locally.

Launched in the US in October 2011, it is currently connecting 12,600 neighbourhoods across 50 US states and growing. 26% of discussions via the platform are recommendations of local businesses and services – a new development in the hugely influential peer review platforms.

Smart local businesses are getting involved and offering preferential rates and promotions for their Nextdoor neighbours.

“At Evolve we strongly believe this move to local, placing people at the heart of the community, heralds a major shift in marketing and social media that will continue to grow as more of Generation Y - sophisticated, tech wise and immune to traditional marketing and sales pitches - enter their late 20s and 30s, settle down and become economic forces.” Gregg...
